How does VideoToStats work?
You upload video of your volleyball match, choose either a 3-set or 5-set package, and complete your payment. Our professional recorders watch every play and record detailed statistics for each player. Once complete, the stats are available on your dashboard — typically within 24–48 hours.
What statistics do you track?
We track over 50 individual statistics across every major skill area: serving (aces, errors, difficult returns), attacking (swings, tips, dumps, kills, errors, efficiency), receiving and passing, blocking (solo blocks, assists, errors), setting, digging, and more. Each stat includes both raw counts and calculated percentages.
How much does it cost?
Match analysis is a one-time fee: $49.95 for a 3-set match or $69.95 for a 5-set match. Parents and players have free access to their own stats. You can also subscribe for $19.95/year to access full player comparisons, pdf export, and history across all teams and seasons.
Who can upload match videos?
Anyone can create a free account to upload videos — parents, coaches, and team managers. Simply register, create your team with player names and jersey numbers, then upload your match video to get started.
How long does it take to get my stats?
Typical turnaround is 24–48 hours after your video is uploaded and payment is complete. Each match is reviewed by a trained human recorder who watches every play — no AI guesswork.
What video format and quality do you need?
We accept MP4, MOV, and AVI files up to 5GB per set. Files at a minimum should be 720p, 1080p is preferred, 4K is better. For best results, record from an elevated position (like bleachers) where the full court is visible. Jersey numbers should be readable. Most smartphone videos work well.
How do parents/players access their player's stats?
After a team is created, parents receive an invitation email to claim their player. Once claimed, parents can view stats and charts on their player for free or subscribe ($19.95/year) to access additional player comparisons, match history, and PDF exports from their own dashboard.
Can I compare players on my team?
Yes! Subscribers get access to the Player Comparison page, which shows a sortable table of all players across every stat category — color-coded by skill area. It's a great tool for understanding strengths and areas for improvement.
I don't understand some of the stats. How can I find out what they mean?
Roll your cursor over the column heading for each stat and a popup will explain that stat.
What are "Clutch Play" stats?
Clutch Play stats are calculated when one team gets to 17 or 8 (in a set to 15) and the other team is within 4. This stat indicates how a player varies from their normal performance when the pressure increases towards the end of a set. This statistic will not show for all sets. It will only record under the stated paramaters.
Are the stats unbiased?
Absolutely. Our recorders are independent professionals with no connection to your team. They record exactly what they see — every play, every player, every stat. This gives you objective data you can trust.
What do you do with the uploaded team videos once you've watched them?
We delete the video files as soon as we have watched and recorded the stats.
Can I export or download my stats?
Yes — subscribers can download the detailed PDF report of their player.
Can you send my report to a college for recruiting purposes?
We have relationships with some college volleyball programs. You need to have at least four team seasons in your record before we will consider this for a player. In most cases that will be club season and high school season each year over two years. We need to see solid stats over that period before we will recommend you to a program. Not all players will qualify for this. A player needs to be in the top of their team's stats on a consistant basis. You also need to be in the subscription plan in order for us to see complete team player comparisons.
